Evans Oppong, a businessman from Fise near Amasaman, was detained on Friday, June 3 for reportedly taking his 11-year-old daughter to a fetish priest at Oyibi Kom in Accra for ritual purposes.
The suspect, who claims to have returned from a trip overseas, is claimed to have gone to the home of Nana Adu-Boafo, a herbalist, and asked to be made wealthy.
Appalled by the scenario, Nana Adu-Boafo Jnr taped their conversation and immediately reported it to the police.
The herbalist described the incident on Facebook, saying the culprit brought up his daughter from school under the guise of purchasing a new clothing for her.

The police, in a statement, said, “We are grateful to him for his selfless service, which has saved the life of the child.”
