Schools were opened for final year students across the country to return to school and prepare for their final exams after the schools were closed due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The Ghana Education Service has confirmed the death of a final year student at the Methodist Girls High School at Mamfe in the Eastern Region of Ghana. This is after two student death cases have been reported in other schools.
Cindy Aku Sika Addo returned to school with her colleagues to prepare for their final exam. Unfortunately, Cindy couldn’t live to see the start of the exam.
A statement from GES confirming her demise indicated that Cindy was rushed to Tetteh Quarshie hospital on Thursday (July 16, 2020) and later transferred to Koforidua Regional Hospital on Friday were she passed on.
