Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram outage caused Zuckerberg to lose $6 billion in hours

A report from Bloomberg suggests that, Zuckerberg lost $6 billion hours after Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram went down across the globe.

Facebook has been in the news lately after a former employee revealed internal research findings to the public. The whistleblower, stated that, Instagram is harming teenage girls and Facebook is aware of it.

Whistleblower’s interview with “60 Minutes”

The just ended outage of the three social media platforms coupled with the whistleblower’s revelations has forced the share price of the firm to fluctuate.

Bloomberg further reported that, a selloff sent Facebook’s stock down 4.9%, in addition to a 15% drop two weeks ago.

Facebook twitted moments after the outage; “We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience,”.

The CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg’s net worth now stands at $121.6 billion. This has placed Zuckerberg fifth on list of richest people in the world, below Bill Gate.
