“FIX THE COUNTRY” Demonstration in limbo after Ghana Police secured a restraining order.

The hash tag “#fixthecountry” has been trending on social media for sometime now. The hash tag has generated a lot of comments from the public particularly social media users.

In a quick respond, ‘fix yourself’ hash tag was also generated. This hash tag has received a lot of mixed feelings from the Public. Which has resulted in prominent people adding their voices to the comments.

As a result of the trending the hash tag (fix the country) is currently receiving, a planned demonstration was scheduled for 9th May, 2021. The ‘fix the country’ hash tag is still trending.

However, the demonstration is currently in limbo after the Ghana Police Service secured a restraining order from an Accra High Court. According to the judge who presided over the case, the restraining order was granted because of the ban on public gathering as part of the Covid-19 protocols.

Culture of silence and fear have gripped the citizens and has created panic amongst the members of the government who in desperation are using all the available state machinery to supress the citizens. This suppression cannot last. Eventually, it gives way to SOMETHING BETTER. This has been human history and evolution since our existence on this planet Earth.
