The Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana (C-DAG) has hinted a 40% increase in transport fares starting January 17.
In a press release, the association is asking Ghanaians to prepare for the upward adjustment of transport fares.
The transport fares increase is as a result of the unbearable hardships facing the drivers, the association said.
“It must be noted that, we commiserate with Ghanaians on the current economic hardship but in order to keep us in business we are left with no other option but to adjust transport fares a little upward which is a 40% increment.” the press release said.
The association mentioned; price of fuel commodities, increment of prices of vehicles and increment of spare parts and lubricants, as some of the factors that necessitated the fare increase.
