Government and Labour Unions agree to a 15% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA)

A compromise has been reached between the government and organized labor on the cost of living allowance that employees have been clamoring for since May.

A 15 percent cost-of-living allowance was decided upon by the two parties and their respective officials at a last-minute meeting on Thursday, July 14. (COLA).

In an agreement signed by all the parties to the negotiations, 15% COLA is effective July 1, 2022.

The statement mentioned; “…all industrial actions underway and threats of same will be called off immediately and that Labour will return to work forthwith.”
