Michael Blackson, a Ghanaian-American comedian, has sparked a campaign to persuade the internationally known filmmaker to open a film studio in Ghana. Micheal Blackson claims he is willing to offer the land.
Michael Blackson made this appeal to Tyler Perry through twitter.
Hey @tylerperry let’s go half on a film studio in Ghana, I’ll get the land and you build the studio.— Michael Blackson (@MichaelBlackson) February 16, 2022
Tyler Perry, on the other hand, is yet to respond to his notification, which should have been buzzing by now. The multi-Oscar-winning producer celebrated the formal launch of his 330-acre Atlanta studio in 2019.
Tyler Perry Studios is the largest film production company in the United States, making Perry the first African-American to own a major studio outright.
For many, the state-of-the-art building strewn throughout the area has also become a tourist attraction. With this in mind, supporters anticipate a huge Tyler Perry project in Africa in conjunction with Micheal Blackson.
This is how social media reacted.
