Luka Modric hopes Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid next season.
Mbappe’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of June, and the forward has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Despite suffering a knock in training on Monday, the prolific 23-year-old has been named in PSG’s team to face Los Blancos in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 contest on Wednesday.
Mbappe was the difference in the first leg, scoring a spectacular late victory to give PSG a 1-0 lead after Lionel Messi’s penalty was saved by Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid.
Modric, who is nearing the end of his contract, has expressed his desire to continue with LaLiga leaders Real Madrid, and the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner believes that every player in the world would like to play alongside Mbappe.
In his last 13 games in the Champions League, Mbappe has been personally involved in 18 goals, scoring 13 and assisting on another five.
His winning goal in the first leg came after 93 minutes and 14 seconds, making it his most recent goal in the competition.
Last year, PSG’s desire to win the Champions League played a key role in their decision to keep Mbappe despite offers from Real Madrid.
PSG, on the other hand, has been knocked out of three of its eight Champions League knockout ties after winning the first leg – only Barcelona (four) and Real Madrid (six) have been knocked out more frequently.
