John Dumelo is an actor, a farmer and recently, a politician. Since John Dumelo made his intentions to contest for his constituency seat known, he has tried in his own way to prove to this people that he can do the job when given the mandate. He has engaged in a lot of activities to support people in his constituency especially during this Covid-19 pandemic. Mr. Dumelo has helped the people with some relieve items as well as given out cash to small and medium enterprise to keep them in business.
The young politician recently started dredging drains in West Legon due to some complains by the people about the rains causing flooding in the area. A lot of people welcomed and applauded this patriotic act by John Dumelo. John Dumelo has demonstrated that he is a man for the people and he knows how to reach out to the people in times of need. In a developing country like Ghana we need people like John Dumelo to develop this country.
However, reports reaching us indicates that the Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly has ordered John Dumelo to strop dredging the drains. Mr. Dumeo wrote on his twitter handle “The community in West Legon Complained to me about flooding and I decided to help by deploying excavators to dredge the drains there. After 3 continuous days of dredging the site, Ayawaso West Municipal Assembly has ordered me to stop but I still dey 4 my people” he said.
This act of patriotism should be encouraged not discouraged if Ghana wants to develop. If the Assembly has ordered the dredging to stop, then they should take it upon themselves to continue the work started by John Dumelo.
