I know some of you are wondering who the real dancehall king is. Afterall, you already know the likes of Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Samini, etc. Yes, they are the current big names in the dancehall fraternity. Certainly, they would not be my best if the real dancehall king is still alive.
I know you are eager to know who I’m talking about. Wonder no more. I’m talking about the artist who made a name in his days. The artist who won a lot of awards in his days. I know you are guessing by now. You guessed right. I am talking about Terry Bonchaka.
Terry Bonchaka was a Ghanaian musician who met his untimely death as he was returning from a performance at the university of Ghana. Terrence Nii Okang Mensah Adjetey know in showbiz as Terry Bonchaka was involved in a car accident on the 30/10/2003.
Before his demise, he made a name for himself. He came out with a lot of hit songs, some of which are ‘Lomna va, Ghana Lady, Pulele, Ewurade, Zoozi etc. The Pulele hitmaker is the man I refer to as the Real Dancehall King.
Rest in peace, Terry. You are mine hero, my Real Dancehall King.
